In radioecology, models are used for a wide variety of applications; examples include the prediction of dose rates and activity concentrations and the associated risk from ionizing radiation. Applications include radionuclide dispersion in the environment, transfer of radionuclides to biota, dosimetry, ecological modelling and radiation effects modelling for biota. The focus of models is both on process-based research as well as human and biota impact assessments.
